Neither young girls nor boys need to see this.Īs for Kirito, his devotion to Asuna is great and he goes on to save her because he is overpowered. what happened to Asuna? The Asuna who was one of the strongest players? The Asuna who saved Kirito as often as he saved her? The Asuna who stood up to men left and right in the first half of the season? She became nothing more than a body in the second half of the season and it was a terrible example to kids, not to mention the constant groping/licking/stroking/smelling of her throughout. In the end, she is chained up, her clothes are ripped off, and the villain licks and gropes and comes this close to raping her before Kirito saves her, the end. and is then caught and groped by tentacle monsters, and thrown back in the cage.

Instead of being amazing like she always was, she somehow becomes utterly reliant on Kirito to come save her. She's captured and put in a literal bird cage by a man who continually sexually assaults her, from stroking her all over to smelling her hair to licking her. Overall, the first 14 episodes have some good lessons, some scary monsters, some sensual content but nothing explicit, some character growth, and are just interesting (even if the pace of the story is pretty random).īut then the second half of the season starts and Asuna is completely ruined. Kirito learns you can't go it alone.Īsuna saves Kirito as often or more often than he saves her, in many different ways from emotional to actual. Over time, she and Kirito are thrown together to solve mysteries/beat bosses/clear levels and the form a relationship over the 2 years they are stuck in the game. She joins a guild early on, and her guild becomes one of the strongest. She starts out as a new player but quickly levels up an becomes one of the strongest in the game. Interesting psychological stuff about being stuck in a game. Most join guilds and team up, but Kirito tries to go it alone for a long time.

Most of them settle down, but Kirito and hundreds of others try to clear the game to free everyone. Some 10,000 people are stuck in the game. He played the beta so he's got an advantage. The protagonist, Kirito, is a teenager stuck in an MMO where if you die in the game you die for real, and they have to make it to the 100th level to win. (This list will only include the mainline anime, and thus Ordinal Scale and Gun Gale Online Alternative won't be included, but both deserve an honourable mention.This show starts out interesting. Ultimately, it's a very up and down series, with soaring highs and crushing lows, but by taking the good with the bad, it can be easy to discuss what makes this anime so special.
If you don't enjoy one season, you only need to wait for the next one to try something else entirely.
